The second photo shows the tongs, opened and the fourth photo shows the tongs closed. Every part of the tongs is hand wrought right down to the rivet which is hand made with fire and hammer. The shovel is also hand wrought, having begun as a piece of flat steel plate. The shape is cut out with a hand held plasma cutter, then heated in the forge and then beaten by hammer to shape it after which, it is welded onto the handle.
